High-quality molybdenum, a rare metal, has been illuminated at a mine in Yeongdeok, drawing attention.

Changdae Mine opened the molybdenum mine at 481 Gasan-ri, Changsu-myeon, Yeongdeok-gun in 2019.

As a result of drilling 300m into the new mine, high-quality molybdenum minerals were mined around July.

Molybdenum is a rare metal with low production worldwide and limited production areas.

It is used as a mineral related to the fourth industry, such as semiconductors and inorganic materials (cannon, armored vehicles), alloys of stainless steel, catalysts for desulfurization, and solar cells.

Changdae Mine owns two molybdenum mines (550ha).

The reserves surveyed by the engineering company in 2018 were 1.95 million tons, and the quality was also high at 0.1 to 15.7%.

In a 1967 survey by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (currently the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy), the mine was judged to be a high-quality mine of 1.5%.

Molybdenum is eligible for mining permission for 0.3 per cent
